Karnaprayag Regional Centre

The Karnaprayag Regional Centre, one of the eight regional centers of Uttarakhand Open University, which serves learners from Rudraprayag and Chamoli districts, was established in October 2024. This regional center is located at Dr. Shivanand Nautiyal Government Post Graduate College in Karnaprayag town. Within just one year of its establishment, the Karnaprayag Regional Centre has played a pioneering role in extending Uttarakhand Open University's courses and academic activities to remote areas of the state.
The Karnaprayag Regional Centre, through its 10 study centers located in Chamoli and Rudraprayag districts, is currently contributing to fulfilling the dreams of higher education for young people in remote areas of Chamoli and Rudraprayag, such as Nandasen, Guptkashi, Joshimath, Talwari, Gairsain, and their surrounding villages. In its one year of operation, the regional center has been disseminating information about the university's courses to learners through outreach activities in remote schools, coaching institutes, government and non-government offices, village councils, NGOs, and regional fairs.
