Dr. Preeti Pant is working as an Assistant Professor (AC) in Department of Forestry and Environmental science under the School of Earth and Environment Science at Uttarakhand Open University, Haldwani since July 2024 to till date. She did her M.Sc. in Physics (Specialization in High Energy Physics) from Department of Physics, D.S.B. Campus, Kumaun University, Nainital and Ph. D. in Physics from the Department of Physics, H.N.B.G.U. (A Central university), Badshahithaul, Uttarakhand. Dr. Pant works in the field of nuclear radiation with a particular emphasis on environmental radioactivity. She has published a number of research papers in various reputed international and national journals. She has attended and presented her research work in several international/national conferences/ seminars/ workshops. The major thrust of her study is environmental radioactivity measurements in air. She has carried out a survey of natural radioactivity levels in normal and high background radiation areas of India. She has knowledge of various techniques based on nuclear radiation detectors such as ionization chamber, GM counter, scintillation detectors, semiconductor detectors and solid-state nuclear track detectors for environmental radiation monitoring. She has software skills in Microsoft-Office, Microsoft Excel, Zoom, and Google meet, etc
