Dr. Shahpar Shareef is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urdu at Uttarakhand Open University, Haldwani. He has extensive teaching experience in Urdu language and literature at both graduate and postgraduate levels.
Dr. Shareef holds multiple academic qualifications including M.A. (Urdu), M.Com, NET (Urdu), and Ph.D. (Urdu). In recognition of his academic excellence, he was awarded the Gold Medal for securing the first position in M.A. Urdu (2014) from MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, conferred during the 12th Convocation on November 10, 2014, by HonтАЩble Governor of Uttar Pradesh Shri Ram Naik, Vice Chancellor Prof. Mushahid Hussain and Prof. Dr. Krishan Lal, President of Academies and Societies of Sciences in Asia.
In 2023, Dr. Shareef was honoured with the U.P. Urdu Academy Prize of тВ╣10,000 for his acclaimed book "Rampur ke Chand Qalamkar (Part IV)".
Dr. Shareef has published over 10 research articles and literary essays in reputed Urdu journals and newspapers across India. His writings cover topics like the Freedom struggle & revolutionary figures, Patriotic thought, Progressive poetry, Modern literary criticism, ChildrenтАЩs literature and Urdu lexicography. His research work has appeared in well-known publications such as Rehnuma e Taleem Jadeed (Delhi), Qaumi Sahafat (Lucknow), Zarrin Shuwaen (Bangalore), Urdu Duniya (Delhi), Sabaq e Urdu, Khwateen Duniya (Delhi), among others.
Dr. Shareef received financial support for two of his published works from the Fakhruddin Ali Ahmad Memorial Committee, Lucknow. His book Rampur ke Chand Qalamkar (Part II) was granted тВ╣42,990 in 2019, and Part IV of the same series received тВ╣42,675 in 2025.
