The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication in Uttarakhand Open University was established in 2010. Later it was established in the name of School of Journalism and Media Studies.
The main objective and vision of School is to provide media education to the learners interested in media education. The aim is to prepare media learners for different media channels and make them self-reliant.
Along with this, the practicality, morality and importance of media in the society have to be explained. We know very well that today media is completely effective on the society; hence linking this topic with research can prove to be very useful for the society.
