Dr. Vinod Kumar is working as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry in the School of Sciences at Uttarakhand Open University, Haldwani (Nainital). He is on Administrative post of Assistant Incharge, Admission.
He has M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry and Ph.D in Chemistry (Natural Product Chemistry) with 6 years of teaching experience in Chemistry for Graduate and Postgraduate classes in different Institute/University. About 13 years of research experience (including Ph.D) with Supercritical fluid reactor, UV-VIS spectrophotometer, HPLC, Gas Chromatography, GC-MS modern analytical instruments. His current research area is Natural Product Chemistry and Nanomaterials. He has published more than 18 research papers in International and National journals. He is a member of several academic and professional bodies in the area of Chemical Sciences.
Dr. Kumar has been awarded by different Scientific and Government bodies.

Research work is being done in the area of Chemistry of Natural Products (Isolation and characterization of biologically active compounds), Pharmacology of natural products and drugs used in Indian traditional systems of medicine, Development of medicinal plant based new drugs.
