Material Production and Distribution Department
In this age of information and technology, the importance of open and distance education is increasing day by day with a mandate of any one, any time and anywhere. With the help of technology, learners can get excellent education while sitting at a distance.
At present the University is conducting 92 traditional, vocational, technical and employable courses. All these courses are recognized by the Bureau of Distance Education (DEB), University Grants Commission (UGC).
At present, the aim of the University is to make the educational system completely student-centered, as well as to strengthen the study material production and distribution system of the University.
What MPDD Does
Material Production and Distribution Division (MPDD), erstwhile known as Book Distribution Section, is one of the most important sub-systems of the distance and open education system.
MPDD facilitates the creation and distribution of Self-Instructional Learning Material (SLM) for various programmes and courses of the University as per advice of course coordinators.
It functions keeping in view the availability of SLM from time to time to the learners as well as to the University Study Centers and Regional Learning Centers.
Apart from this, MPDD undertakes the activity of printing the required number of materials, storing these materials and controlling its stock and sending it to the concerned units course-wise and medium-wise.
Approximately 90% of the work carried out by MPDD is automation-based, supporting efficient material production, inventory management and distribution.
Option of E-Material for Students
The University has taken a decision to offer an option of e-material to students.
Students who opt for e-material will be given a 15% discount on Programme Fee in order to encourage students towards digital learning materials.
