Dr. Vishal Kumar Sharma is working as an Assistant Professor in Physics Department under the School of Sciences at Uttarakhand Open University, Haldwani, Nainital(U.K). He has completed his M.Sc(Physics) with specialization in Advanced Electronics and Ph.D. in High Energy Particle Physics from Department of Physics, Soban Singh Jeena Campus Almora, Kumaun University, Nainital.
He has qualified CSIR-UGC NET JRF in Physics with 89th AIR and also qualified GATE, JEST and SINP. He has more than 10 years of teaching experience at U.G and P.G level in different Institutes/Universities. He has taught Quantum Mechanics, Statistical Mechanics, Mathematical Physics, Nuclear Physics, Advanced Electronics, Digital Electronics, Particle Physics, High Energy Physics at PG level and Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, Heat and Thermodynamics, Oscillations and Waves, Modern Physics, Electronics at UG level.
Dr. Sharma has research interest in the field of High Energy Particle Physics, Theoretical and Mathematical Physics, Dark Matter, Supersymmetry, Quaternion, Octonion, General Theory of Relativity and Nuclear Physics. He has published various research papers in reputed international and national journals. He has attended and presented his research work in several International/National conferences/Seminars/Workshops/Symposiums. He has also delivered invited lectures as resource person. He is a member of several academic and professional bodies in the area of Physical Sciences. At present he is holding the administrative post of Assistant Incharge , Admissions in Uttarakhand Open University.
Dr. Sharma has software skills in Mathematica, Origin Pro, MATLAB, LaTeX, MS Office.. As a team leader he has conducted one week skill development programme on topic “LaTeX Basics”in June 2020 under “SAMPARK” a social initiative by Kumaun University Nainital. He has completed six months Project/training work on “General Packet Radio Service (GPRS)” in BSNL Almora .
